About the Process
If you would like to be notified when any Voucher Program waiting list opens to the public within the state of Connecticut, please click this link: www.cthcvp.org to register on the Housing Choice Voucher Program website administered by United Way of Connecticut. Upon registering with the site, you will receive an email notification when any Connecticut housing authority advertises the opening of any of their waiting lists to accept new Housing Choice Voucher or subsidized housing applications.

The 2-1-1 Navigator is an interactive questionnaire that guides you through a series of questions to help determine which federal and state assistance programs you may qualify for and how to apply for them. While the results are not a guarantee that you will qualify for the programs for which you apply, it can tell you if it’s worth your time to apply.

Available Units
The AffordableHousing.com site allows Housing Choice Voucher holders to search for available housing in their area, and allows landlords who wish to rent to Housing Choice Voucher holders to list their available units for rent. For landlords seeking to list a unit or anyone looking to view our available listings, please use AffordableHousing.com.

Waitlist Status
The WHHA purges the Housing Choice Housing Choice Voucher waiting list annually. Notifications will be mailed to the address on file. If you have moved and mail is returned due without a forwarding address, your application will be withdrawn and you will have to reapply when the list reopens. If requesting an update of your application status, this request must be made in writing to the Housing Authority.
